Cartoons by Anne Gibbons have adorned greeting cards, magazines, books, advertisements, newspapers and web sites across the country. JJI International recently launched Anne’s newest creation, Sophisticated Ladies™, a line of mugs, magnets, tote bags and other gift products. Industry leader Recycled Paper Greetings and several other companies have published the New York-based artist's best-selling greeting cards for over fifteen years. The National Cartoonists Society awarded Anne with the prestigious Reuben Award for Greeting Cards in 2000.
Gibbons is proud to be part of Six Chix, the innovative comic strip devoted entirely to the work of women cartoonists.
Anne's cartoons have appeared in Ladies' Home Journal, Glamour, Cosmopolitan and Redbook. One woman recently wrote, "Let me tell you, you hit it right on the nose every time!" Her cartoons have been reprinted in numerous books, including Crème de la Femme and This Could Be The Start of Something Stupid. Hearst New Media, IBM, and MasterCard have all used Anne's cartoons and illustrations to appeal to both men and women in their markets.
Perhaps a fan of Gibbons' cartoons, which have appeared weekly on Lifetime Television's web site, best expressed their appeal when she sent Anne this e-mail: ". . . as a working mother, wife, housekeeper, taxi and anything else I can't seem to say no to when I am asked to do it, I find your cartoons very funny and a way to laugh at myself. Sometimes life just gets me down and I forget how to get myself back up and your cartoons help. Thank you so much."
